Around 30 field workers from the Department of Health in Mpumalanga met up at Midwater Centre to commence with home to home testing for Covid-19 infections today.
The workers supported by DA Ward Councilor Mr Hennie Niemann visited homes to conduct screenings, and consequent testing of those fitting testing criteria.
Gholfsig will also be visited alongside Aerorand until Monday.
From Monday other areas in town will be visited.
According to Mr Niemann health workers will ask a certain set of questions and take resident’s temperatures.
Those who show signs of possible infection will then be tested.
Mr Niemann urged residents to cooperate.
On Thursday night President Cyril Ramaphosa extended the national lockdown with a further two weeks to curb further infections.
Residents should stay indoors and only venture out for necessities like food, medicine and medical treatment.
