Guard tied during armed robbery at KFC

KFC has fallen victim to a business robbery after three armed men broke into the store and cleared out the safes on the premises.

According media spokesperson for the Middelburg SAPS, Captain Khanyisile Zwane, the robbery took place at 02:30 this morning.

The security guard on duty was approached by three armed men, who tied him up with shoelaces at gunpoint.

The armed men had gained access to the store by breaking open a window as well as a door.

The security had managed to untie himself and called his supervisor.

Upon the police’s arrival, it was found that two safes had been broken into.

According to Captain Zwane, the police could not yet ascertain what was held in the safes, but the guard fortunately escaped without injury.
