Driver flees multi-vehicle collision

Several people were left injured after a multi-vehicle collision took place on Nelson Mandela Drive early this morning.

The accident took place near the secondary crossing going towards Federale Stene, and involved three vehicles including a Ford Figo, a Landrover Discovery and an Isuzu bakkie.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the Ford Figo fled the scene and police initiated a search for him.

The road had to be cleaned following an oil spill, and traffic was redirected, causing a build up.

•This is a second accident occurring in this vicinity within a week.
