Local resorts open for leisure

Local resorts are ready to receive their first guests now that leisure travel is allowed within provinces.

According to the latest amendments to the government gazette, intra-provincial leisure travel is allowed, enabling hotels, lodges, resorts and guesthouses to accommodate visitors for overnight stays within their province of residence.

The new regulations now permit guided tours in open safari vehicles, camping and use of self-catering accommodation.

The following resorts and lodges are open for business to Mpumalanga residents.

• Forever Resorts Loskopdam – Management at Forever Resorts have confirmed that the Loskop Dam retreat is open for business. Their self-catering units and camping facilities are ready to accommodate visitors for private reasons.

Day visitors consisting of small groups are allowed for fishing purposes only. Fishermen need to provide a fishing licence and skipper’s licence for access.

Swimming pools are closed until further notice.

• The owner of Meraki Day Spa and Garden Cafe, Ms Petro Visser, has also confirmed that both the beauty treatment spa and Garden Cafe are open.
Residents are welcome to make bookings for all treatments.

• De Voetpadkloof – Mr Koos Kleinsmith has confirmed that the local bushveld gem is ready to receive visitors. He attested to a successful weekend after reopening.

All visitors are reminded that local resorts are required to comply with Covid-19 protocols. Sanitising, registration of all visitors and social distancing needs to be observed as per regulations.
