At least one killed in horrible Stoffberg Road collision

At least one person was killed in a horrible collision between a sedan and a truck on the Stoffberg Road around 13:00 today.

According to the driver of the truck, he saw two people in the vehicle. The number of casualties could however not be determined on the scene due to the destruction of the sedan which ended up underneath the truck following the collision. The local police K9 unit was called in to search for remains, which may have been scattered beyond the scene, due to the high speed impact of the collision. Eye witnesses say the vehicle wanted to overtake the truck before the collision. Paramedics, police members, fire and rescue services and towing services are still on the scene awaiting SAPS photographers. The recovery operation may take hours before the scene is finally cleared. There’s also a possibility that the road may be temporarily closed for recovery operations. Motorists are advised to use the road with caution.
