Two killed in accidents

Two men perished in separate accidents on Sunday morning.

•At 04:15 on Sunday morning, Mr Jabu Mavundla was declared dead at the scene when he lost control of his Toyota Hilux near the Woestalleen off-ramp.
According to the Middelburg SAPS, one occupant was trapped in the wreckage and had to be freed by emergency personnel.

•Another accident followed shortly thereafter, when a Toyota Conquest and Polo TSI collided on the N11 (Hendrina) next to the N4.
A Middelburg resident, Mr Lucas Jabu Mahlangu, was also declared dead at the scene at around 11:05.

The Middelburg SAPS confirmed that a case of culpable homicide was opened, after the driver of the Polo fled the scene.

•The families of the deceased could not be reached by the time of publishing.
