Two stabbed during fishing outing in Eastdene
A man and a woman were savagely attacked by a man wielding a knife at the river in Eastdene.
The two victims were part of a group of three, and were enjoying a day of fishing at the river that passes behind the Eastdene soccer grounds.
A man approached them and kicked their dog, before turning on them with a knife.
The woman received a deep cut to her abdomen, and the man was stabbed in the forearm after trying to ward off the attack.
ER 24 Ambulance services as well as CSC Tactical, responded to the scene, but the victims drove themselves to hospital.
Reaction Officers from CSC Tactical patrolled the area in search of the attacker.
Information was later received that the attacker was tracked down and arrested on the corner of Wicht- and Zuid Street.
The two victims were fortunate to escape life threatening injury.
