Hospital staff keeps boy (12) company as mother abandons him

Ryan Motosomedi is unable to walk or talk.

The Middelburg Hospital is desperately seeking the family of a 12-year old special needs boy, whose mother abandoned him at the health facility after treatment in November.

Ryan Motosomedi is unable to walk or talk. His disabilities, however, does not detract from his contagious smile.

Ryan’s mother is suspected to be from Lesotho.

The abandonment has been reported to the SAPS who needs assistance in tracing his kin.

Social workers and police have visited the mother’s last known address, but she could not be traced.

He is in desperate need of clothes and toiletries.

The hospital’s social worker is also appealing to the community to help trace Ryan’s relatives.
