Writer launches 30th book in Middelburg

Famous historian, author and artist Hans Bornman launched his 30th book, “Owls of Southern Africa,” at The Silver Spoon Coffee Shop on 17 December.

The book contains the twelve main owls of Southern Africa, rendered in beautiful full-colour drawings by the author himself.

The first 25 limited edition hardcover books which were purchased, received a complimentary signed and numbered print of one of the drawings.

• Mr Bornman said that the idea of the book all started when Danie Scholtz asked him to draw an owl for him.

• The host of the function was Ms Jackie Scholtz, a life long friend of Mr Bornman.
