Massive drive at Taxi rank to combat spread of Covid-19

The Middelburg District Taxi Association (MDTA) embarked on a massive drive at the Iraq Taxi rank this morning, to help combat and control the spread of Covid-19.

MDTA members, Sonani Mdhlulu and Jeffery Mthimunye, urged commuters to report taxi drivers that do not wear their masks.

Commuters were also told to keep their masks on at all times. MDTA chairperson, Mr Mdhlulu, said the taxi association will ensure that commuters and taxi drivers comply with the regulations.

Mpumalanga MEC of Health, Sasekani Manzini, also visited the taxi rank.

During the visit, she told commuters to take extra precaution because the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality has been identified as a hotspot.

MEC Mazini also visited the Middelburg Mall and the Sister Mashiteng Clinic in Mhluzi.
