One killed after two trucks collide on the N4 near Sunbury

Motorists are urged to proceed with caution on the specific section of highway.

One person were killed and another seriously injured, when two trucks collided on the N4 near Sunbury around 06:30.

The body of the deceased, a passenger of one of the trucks, remain trapped inside the cabin.  Recovery of the body is underway.

The other, seriously injured person, was taken to hospital.

The trucks collided en route to Middelburg. One of the trucks were ferrying pressed wood slabs, while the other was empty.

Its unclear what caused the collision, though driver fatigue may have played a role.
