Eloise: 400mm for Beira – Middelburg receives steady rainfall

Middelburg has been receiving a steady rainfall since yesterday with some parts of town measuring up to 42 mm over the last two days.

Meanwhile, Cyclone Eloise has subsided into a tropical storm which made landfall in Mozambique, with Beira suffering extensive flood damage after 400 mm was recorded along with windspeeds up to 106 km p/h.

Former Middelburg residents, Hendry and Susan van Tonder, who have relocated to Mozambique, and are now owners of the popular holiday resort, Pensao Inhasoro Lodge, told www.mobserver.co.za that Inhasoro has experienced rain but no severe damages.
