Covid-19 statistics – hospitals remain full

The latest statistics show that transmissions of the coronavirus continue to increase rapidly.

The Steve Tshwete District’s numbers have gone up, with 16 more fatalities and 455 new positive cases since last week.

Hospital management at Life Midmed Hospital confirmed that currently there has been no change in pace for doctors working in the Covid-19 wards.
Despite the slight decrease seen nationwide, their Covid-19 wards remain full of patients.

The latest statistics released by the Department of Health are as follows:

Steve Tshwete: 5 642 positive cases, 5 026 recoveries, 99 Covid-19 related fatalities

eMalahleni: 9 740 positive cases, 8 871 recoveries, 141 fatalities

Govan Mbeki: 5 621 positive cases, 5 162 recoveries, 68 fatalities

Mbombela: 12 681 positive cases, 11 441 recoveries, 121 fatalities
