Further unplanned power outages in Middelburg and rural surrounds due to vandalism

Eskom has confirmed that vandalism on the Rockdale – Raleigh 22kV line during last night, has resulted in further unplanned power outages for Middelburg, Eikeboom and Molare communities.
The following feeders were affected:
- Rockdale – Raleigh 22kV feeder (Roc/Ral)
- Rockdale – Raleigh Kanhym 22kV feeder 9RKK
- Rockdale – Raleigh Wanhoop 22kV feeder (WH)
- Raleigh 22kV/11kV Substation
- Raleigh – Raleigh 11kV FDR (RAR)
- Kanhym Investment and Eiekeboom 11kV feeder
The Middelburg technical team is working towards restoring supply.
Unfortunately a restoration time is not available at this time Eskom says.
Eskom says the vandalism damage is extensive, with a number of conductors and poles-structures having been completely sawn off and stolen.
