Three Mozambicans arrested for diesel theft

The Middelburg police have arrested three Mozambican nationals, Antonio Munguambe (28), Rivage Alzido Juliao (26), and Tali Alberte (25) earlier today with 600 liters of diesel.

The police made the arrest today at about 02:00 during their patrol in Vaalbank informal settlement, near the Bethal road.

The police spotted a suspicious white Toyota Hilux with three males inside.

The vehicle was stopped and a search conducted. Several 25-liter containers filled with diesel were found inside the car.

The Mpumalanga Police spokesperson, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said the three men could not provide proof of purchase nor a clear explanation of the diesel.

They were then arrested.The police also confiscated the diesel.

The three men appeared before the Middelburg Magistrates Court on Friday.

The matter was postponed to December 6 and they are remanded in custody.
