STLM warns of tender scams
Tender bidders have been urged to report such calls to municipal law enforcement.

According to a media statement issued by Mr. Mandla Mnguni, Municipal Manager of the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality, STLM has been made aware of a tender scam currently making the rounds.
Tender bidders have been warned that scammers pretending to be municipal officials are demanding money from bidders for them to be eligible for appointment on projects that were advertised by the Municipality.
“We wish to categorically place it on record that the Municipality distances itself from such fraudulent tendencies, and calls upon bidders that have been called and those that will still receive such calls or messages to report the matter to Law Enforcement on WhatsApp 082 399 4953 or dial 082 501 1878/1879 or the South African Police Services on 10111/ 082 923 0053.
The Municipality follows strict Supply Chain Management processes in accordance with the Municipal Finance Management Act when procuring goods and services. We ensure full compliance with applicable legislation when it comes to matters relating to procurement, or any other matter thereof.
