Ministerial visit place Eskom power plants in focus

Load shedding suspended for today

Minister in the Presidency responsible for Electricity, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, will be visiting all 14 Eskom power plants, with the minister touching down at Duvha and Kriel power plants today.

The minister plans to visit all 14 Eskom power plants within the next two weeks.

Tyres were burnt at the Duvha entrance in the early hours of this morning, but the scene has since been cleared by police.

The aim with the power plant tour is for the newly appointed minister to engage with the management, workers and unions.

Minister Ramokgopa is accompanied by his adviser Mr Silas Zimu and other senior officials in his department.
