Municipal murder case postponed again

Mchunu back in the dock.

Nqubeko Bright Mchunu (40), the man accused of killing municipal worker Tshepo Maseko last August, appeared in the Middelburg Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The matter was postponed to April 6.

The former PPP Protection and Security guard is facing charges of murder after the shooting incident of Mr Maseko during a municipal protest.

During a standoff with PPP Protection and Security guards, striking workers were shot at and some were seriously injured, sadly Mr Maseko died on the scene.

Mchunu was charged with murder and subsequently arrested, he was released on R10 000 bail last year.

On Thursday, municipal workers halted services to attend the brief court appearance.
