Mhluzi drug bust leads to the arrest of five

Heroin, cash and marijuana was seized during the operation.

Five suspects between the ages of 31 and 40 were arrested during a disruptive search and seizure operation executed by the Middelburg-based Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation, Middleburg K9, and Middleburg District team in the Mhluzi area early Thursday morning.

The information of drug dealing was received and operationalized. Houses were searched and heroin, dagga as well as cash was confiscated.

A combined street value of the seized drugs is approximately R219 000.

The suspects will be charged and appear in the Middelburg Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 31 March.
