Massive truck accident on old Witbank road

A huge collision between three vehicles, two of which were trucks, occurred this morning on the R555. All three vehicles were severely damaged.

According to Mr Cobus Botha, an eyewitness at the scene, a truck was overtaking on a single lane when it clipped a red car, causing the car to spin into oncoming traffic.
The red car then crashed into an oncoming truck.

One truck flipped on its side and the other has been totally wrecked, with the red car sustaining severe damage at its rear.

Mr Botha was right behind the overtaking truck, and witnessed the event as it happened. He and a friend then proceeded to direct traffic until the traffic department arrived at the scene.

The incident occurred on the old Witbank Road 12km outside Middelburg, at roughly 08:45.

One of the truck drivers is thought to have a broken ankle, while no other serious injuries have been reported as of yet.
