Thief targets Observer offices again

The burglar broke into the offices shortly after 05:41.

The Middelburg Police are investigating a burglary after the Middelburg Observer offices were targeted again by a lone thief.

In the video footage, the man is seen crawling from the front office into the reception area, where he unplugs a screen monitor, and attempts to steal two keyboards and two computer mice.

The alarm alerted MidAlarms, and when security officers arrived on the scene, the thief ran across Meyer Street and hid the items under a tree.

This is the second break-in at the Middelburg Observer offices, the first occurred in January.

Anyone who may know the man in the video footage screenshots, or may have information that may lead to his arrest, is urged to contact Sergeant T. E. Malatjie on 013 249 1678.
