STLM law enforcement officers elbow deep in trash
Law enforcement officers of the Steve Tshwete Municipality really don't mind getting their hands dirty.

Some members of the team ditched their uniforms for a cleanup campaign.
They targeted in Meyer and Weeber Streets, black bags in hand, to pick up rubbish.
The area shelters a large group of homeless residents.

Areas which were cleaned up, include hotspots known by law enforcers, where cable thieves burn their loot to get to the copper.
Business owners around the train station have been complaining about the situation for months.
Law enforcers who often respond to complaints in the area, took it upon themselves to clean the area.
Illegal dumping remains a huge problem in Middelburg and all its surrounds, most prominently Mhluzi, Nasaret and Hlalamnandi.

Residents are urged to report any illegal dumping to law enforcement.
Residents should also take down number plates, alongside photographs, of illegal dumping taking place, which can be sent to law enforcement.
