Caution of new speedhumps a false alarm
A traffic warning currently being shared widely on social media alerting motorists of newly constructed, larger speedhumps in the Kranspoort Pass is a false alarm.
Mr. Johan Cross, one of the representatives for Kranspoort in the ongoing meetings with Sanral, confirmed that no speedhumps are currently being constructed but that the old rumble strips have just been freshly painted over.
“The traffic warning originated from the Groblersdal community. Sanral, however, is planning to replace the rumble strips with speedhumps in the future and I believe that is where the misunderstanding stems from.”
Mr. Cross emphasised that the speedhumps are not yet in construction phase and that community members will be informed should road works commence.
