Robot only casualty of early morning school-run crash

Motorists can expect delays at the Beyers Naude and Meyer Street crossing after a collision, in which a traffic light was damaged.

No one was injured in the incident.

Eyewitnesses say a lady, traveling down Meyer Street, towards Kanonkop, tried to cross the intersection from a left-only lane.
She ended up in front of a turning bakkie, and swerved.

The lady mounted the sidewalk, slammed into a stone and came to a halt in the park opposite OK Grocer.
Her vehicle was badly damaged.

A red bakkie was also involved.

Vehicles often swerve into vehicles with right of way from the specific left-only lane.

A member of the public is directing traffic at the moment.

Motorists should approach the intersection with caution.
