Suspect in court for murder

A suspect linked to a fatal stabbing incident on Saturday was arrested and appeared in court on Monday.

According to a media statement issued by the SAPS, Carlos Nyasheko(49) was arrested in Middleburg on Saturday at around 18:25 through community assistance.

It is reported that members on duty that evening were called out to attend a murder incident and upon arrival, they found the victim laying in a pool of blood.

The suspect covered in blood stains and a knife was reportedly found at the crime scene and can potentially be linked to the crime.

The suspect was charged with murder and appeared at the Middelburg Magistrate’s Court yesterday (Monday) where the case was postponed to 6 June for a formal bail application.

Nyasheko remained in custody.
