Middelburg cops arrest Mamelodi man for theft

Alleged repeat offender arrested again at Midwater.

The man who was arrested by the Middelburg Police for theft out of a motor vehicle will be making his second court appearance on June 7.

Jonas Baloyi (36) from Mamelodi Gardens in Pretoria, was arrested at Midwater on May 30 for allegedly stealing items from vehicles.

He made his first court appearance on June 1, and the matter was postponed for a formal bail application.

He allegedly used signal jammers to gain access to the vehicles.

According to information, Baloyi allegedly attempted to steal a bag containing a work laptop and a wallet with bank cards. The items were recovered during his arrest.

This is not the first time Baloyi has been arrested in Middelburg.

On May 19, he was arrested for driving a vehicle with a false number plate.

He was arrested and the Middelburg Magistrates’ Court granted him R2 000 bail.
