An accident between a Hyundai truck and a heavy motor vehicle carrying coal was reported on the R542 (Van Dyks Drift road) shortly after the Middelburg Mine at 14:00.

Van Wettens is currently at the scene to commence with vehicle recovery.

A motorist confirmed that the Hyundai truck has been removed from the scene, but the overturned truck still remains. The truck’s shipment of coal was spilled but has also since been cleared.

Motorists are advised to approach the area with caution.
