The race was won by Herman Fouche in a time of 02:07:02; Jordan Boshoff came in second at 02:07:04, and Casper Kruger took third with a time of 02:07:11.
Montshioa, who has represented South Africa in road cycling, escaped uninjured after being involved in a hit-and-run incident on the morning of Wednesday, October 6.
He had been riding with nine other members of the ‘Early Riders’ group at 04:30. After the training ride, he headed home to get ready for work.

While cycling through Mhluzi on his way to his job at Basson & Beyers Bicycle Shop in the Midwater Centre, he was struck from behind by a grey Avanza. The Avanza sped off before he could note down the registration number.
Another motorist stopped to assist him. Although he sustained no injuries, his bicycle was severely damaged.
No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
