Elections 2024: Why will you be voting on Wednesday?

There are two game changers in this year’s national and provincial government elections, which will take place next Wednesday, May 29.

The first big change is that voters will now receive a third ballot paper, the district ballot.

The second change is that voters now have to vote at the voting stations they are registered to vote at.

The elections will kick off with special voting on Monday and Tuesday, followed by Wednesday’s national voting day, which has been declared a holiday to enable all registered voters to exercise their democratic rights.

Voting is not a privilege, voting is every South African citizen’s obligation, as long as you are of voting age.

Your vote matters.

Your voice matters.

You are a South African, and the country belongs to you.

In light of the above, please share with Middelburg Observer readers why you will be voting in the 2024 national and provincial government elections in the comment section.
