Meyer/Protea intersection still closed as clean-up of spill continues

HAZMAT clean-up crews are currently busy cleaning this morning's spill.

According to Traffic Alert, the Meyer Street- and Protea intersection is still blocked off after this morning’s fatal truck accident.

Mr Louwtjie Swart wished to alert motorists that wish to turn into Kanonkop from Meyer Street that they can drive through the field next to the slip.

Traffic driving straight in Stoffberg’s direction is not affected.

The clean-up underway is a result of this morning’s truck overturning at the traffic light. It was reported that the truck was transporting a platinum liquid solution which was spilled when the truck overturned.

The passenger inside the truck was killed in the accident.
