HTS Middelburg legends help Naka Bulls retain Gold Cup

Rooies legends helped the Naka Bulls Rugby Club create history in Pretoria.

Former Rooies Jacques Muller and Driaan Bester have helped the Naka Bulls successfully defend the African Rainbow Community Gold Cup.

On Saturday, the Naka Bulls took on the Northam Rhinos in a thrilling encounter, in which the Pretorian side emerged victorious by the finest of margins.

With a final score of 22-19, the Naka Bulls capped off a fantastic run in the ARC Gold Cup, retaining the prestigious trophy in front of their passionate home supporters.

The Naka Bulls are the two-time reigning champions of the ARC Gold Cup.

Although Bester missed the final through injury, he played a vital role in the earlier rounds, primarily at the eight.

As the club’s forwards coach, Muller was paramount to the team’s overwhelming success this year, with the Naka Bulls also defeating the Rhinos in the final of the Carlton Cup in August.

Ahead of the game, Springbok icons such as Percy Montgomery and Morné Steyn wished the side good luck. You can watch that video below:
