Convoy of three vehicles robbed in N4 spiking incident

A convoy of three vehicles was ambushed by robbers on the N4 in another terrifying spiking incident.

According to Arthur Hill from Dagpatrollie, his reaction team had responded to the scene on Wednesday at roughly 01:15 on the N4, 51km from Middelburg near Delmas.

Upon their arrival they encountered three vehicles, the occupants of which had all been robbed at gunpoint.

The three vehicles were driving in a convoy when the first vehicle struck spikes, bringing it to a standstill.
The other two vehicles then stopped to assist, when a group of suspects, all armed, ambushed them and robbed them of their valuables.

“The woman driving the front vehicle was left traumatised and could not say how many suspects were involved. They threatened to shoot and assault the victims and fled with cellphones and laptops among other valuables.”

According to Hill, the ordeal was over and the robbers had fled by the time of their arrival.

“We assisted the victims and dispatched the Delmas SAPS, who took over from there.”

Hill says that a white VW Polo is believed to be involved again.
