Mass clean-up planned after teacher’s stabbing
The Mineralia community has taken action against the brutal stabbing of a teacher by planning a mass clean-up.
Mandla Frans Mnisi, a teacher from Phumelela Secondary School, was viciously stabbed to death in front of his wife on Friday evening during their walk home from OK Mineralia.
The violent stabbing took place in the park on the corner of Oos- and Kogel Street, the same area in which the elderly Douw van der Walt and Heloise Perrow were found brutally murdered, and Juane Hendriks was assaulted.
The spate of violent crimes, in addition to the park’s close proximity to Laerskool CR Swart, has called the Mineralia community into action and was launched with a successful community meeting held on Wednesday.

According to DA Ward Councillor San-Mari Wait, a mass clean-up of the park was arranged for this Saturday.
Concerned residents have complained at length about the drifters taking shelter in the park, and are convinced that the criminals terrorising their community find safe haven within its sub-wooded areas.
Arthur Hill from Dagpatrollie told the Middelburg Observer that arrangements for the clean-up were made on Tuesday and invited members of the public to combine forces this Saturday from 09:00 to de-forest the area and smoke lurking criminals from their holes.
