Middelburg welcomes rain, more expected today & tomorrow

Over the past several weeks, thunderstorms have come and gone, with fleeting bouts of rain accompanying them, but it seems that our collective thirst may have finally been quenched.

Middelburg’s cries for rain may have finally been answered, with last night’s rainfall arriving as a welcome respite to this summer’s unusually dry prelude.

The rain will bring a sigh of relief to many a resident, who had grown frustrated with the short spurts of drops that would dissipate after a brief, yet ultimately unfulfilling period.

According to members of the Middelburg Reënval Facebook group, from 06:00 on November 10 to 06:00 on November 11, our town experienced between 13–17mm of rainfall.

The measured areas included Aerorand, Kanonkop, Mineralia, Doornkop, and the Stoffberg Road.

Weather websites such as AccuWeather and The Weather Channel predict between 4–8mm of rainfall during today’s course.

They also predict a 90% chance of precipitation tomorrow.
