Union workers protest ahead of arrival of matric markers
NEHAWU union workers at Somaphepha Boarding School staged a demonstration at the school yesterday and today.
The school is expecting at least 500 matric markers today.
The workers want an increase in payment for accommodating the markers.
In previous years, they received R360; this year they want R500.
The markers are expected to arrive at the school today.
There are fears that the protest will delay marking.
• The Middelburg Observer contacted the Mpumalanga Department of Education about the matter.
