Scorching heat and potential thunderstorms – Expected weather forecast
Blazing hot temperatures are set to continue throughout the week, with a possibility of thunderstorms to take place today.
The hot and humid temperatures Middelburg experienced (suffered) over the weekend will continue throughout this week, with the possibility of showers and thunderstorms to follow suit.
The Weather Channel
According to The Weather Channel, from tomorrow (Tuesday), temperatures are expected to remain in the plus 30°C range, with a high of 33°C on Friday.
There is a 71% chance of precipitation today, with a 38% chance tomorrow. Alongside this chance of rain are expected thunderstorms that could contain frequent lightning.
Today’s temperature is expected to reach around 28°C.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS)
The SAWS has predicted 5mm of rainfall today and 3mm tomorrow.
They also expect 75% humidity this evening. The SAWS indicates that potential thunderstorms will commence tonight at roughly 20:00.
The SAWS expects temperatures to reach as high as 31°C.
AccuWeather
AccuWeather states, “Considerable cloudiness; a thunderstorm in parts of the area this morning followed by a gusty thunderstorm this afternoon.”
They also predict 16.6mm of rainfall today, with 3.5 hours of rain.
They also expect 39km/h wind gusts and a real temperature feel of 30°C.
