(Watch) Kwagga Smith returns to Japan for start of Blue Revs season

The Shizuoka Blue Revs are situated in Iwata, within the Shizuoka Prefecture, and have a population of over 160 000 people, who are presumably all number one fans of the former Rooie.

HTS Middelburg legend Kwagga Smith has returned to Japanese soil in preparation for the Shizuoka Blue Revs season opener on December 21.

As captain of the Blue Revs, Kwagga will work tirelessly to help his team achieve great success this coming campaign, with a home game against the Kobelco Kobe Steelers to kick-start their Japan Rugby League One venture.

As a Springbok, Kwagga is frequently a key member of the second unit, the iconic Bomb Squad, but as part of the Blue Revs, he takes a more central starring role.

And with great power comes great responsibility, as with his years of top-level experience, extensive trophy cabinet, and on-field talent, his teammates will look to him for inspiration.

You can watch him express his eagerness to return to the club he has called home since 2018 in a video shared on X by the official Blue Revs account.

Kwagga told fans he could not wait for the side’s first home game and asked everyone to show up and support the team as they will be looking to put on a show.
