Criminals target mine

The victim was taken to the guard room, where his other colleague was.

The Middelburg police are looking for four men who allegedly robbed Kego Klipbank Mine last night.

A security guard was busy with his regular patrol at the mine at about 21:30 when he saw four unknown men.

One man pointed a firearm at the guard and instructed him to lie down, while another suspect reportedly removed the guard’s shoelaces to tie him up.

The victim was taken to the guard room, where his other colleague was.

They were locked in the office, and their cell phones were stolen, along with a panic button, a hand radio, and a shotgun.

An hour after the incident happened, one of the guards managed to untie himself and his colleague. The security guards then found the hand radio and shotgun.

The four suspects are still at large.
