Rain expected throughout Christmas week – Middelburg Weather

Middelburg is expected to experience a week filled with rain over this festive period, according to various sources.

According to various weather information services, Middelburg should be braced for a wet Christmas week, that will hover in the low-to-mid twenties in terms of degrees.

Monday (Today)

Today will start off slow, with Apple’s weather app stating that rainy conditions will pick up at around 15:00.

AccuWeather predicts a ‘thunderstorm or two tonight’, with a 42% chance of precipitation over the course of the day.

The Weather Channel suggests a 34% chance of precipitation, with scattered thunderstorms later this evening.

Tuesday

AccuWeather states that there is a 100% chance of precipitation tomorrow, with the Weather Channel not far behind that estimate, with a 95% chance of precipitation.

Apple is far more conservative, with a 75% chance.

All three services do, however, predict thunderstorms throughout the day.

Wednesday (Christmas)

In what may be described as a Christmas miracle, Wednesday may be the only day this week that avoids the rain entirely.

Across all three weather services, Wednesday is ranked the lowest in estimated precipitation, with AccuWeather stating that there is only a 25% chance.

The Weather Channel is at 41% and Apple is at 55%.

Temperatures on Christmas will also max out at around 22°C.

Thursday

Boxing Day will see an immediate rise in temperature, reaching potential highs of 26°C.

With this comes the added possibility of thunderstorms and rain, with AccuWeather suggesting a 81% chance of precipitation, and over 10mm of rainfall.

Friday

Thunderstorms are expected to continue on Friday, with Apple, the Weather Channel and AccuWeather all indicating that the chance of precipitation is over 60%.

All three sites also conclude that temperatures will reach a max of 25°C.
