Carolina/Chrissiesmeer road closed after collapse

Drivers are urged to proceed with caution and seek alternative routes.

Motorists planning to travel on the P177 be warned, as the road between Carolina and Chrissiesmeer has collapsed due to torrential rainfall.

The collapsed section of the road is situated 7km outside of Carolina.

A closer look at the damage.

In a message shared on several WhatsApp groups, including Middelburg Emergency Dispatch, MP Riots and Traffic, Traffic Alert and Belfast Emergency, the road between the R33 and the N17 is to be closed until restoration is complete.

According to the message, the Fire Brigade, SAPS, Traffic Police and Engineering, are all at the scene.

Drivers are urged to proceed with caution and seek alternative routes.
