This week’s Middelburg weather forecast – Thunderstorms & humidity expected
AccuWeather envisions that Middelburg will be ‘mostly cloudy and humid with a couple of showers and a thunderstorm’ on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, while Thursday will have ‘considerable cloudiness with a thunderstorm in spots in the afternoon’.
For many, today marks the return to work after a much-needed festive season break. And rather poetically, following close behind that return is a week slated to be filled with rain and thunderstorms.
THE WEATHER CHANNEL
Starting with The Weather Channel, at 08:15 this morning they warned that Middelburg will experience ‘heavy downpours’ and ‘frequent lightning with storms’ over the course of the day.
They further stated that there is a 100% chance of rain today, and an 80% chance later tonight.
The Weather Channel predicts thunderstorms will occur every day this week, with maximum temperatures consistently in the low to mid-20s. Friday has the highest expected max temperature this week, at 26°C.
Wind speeds will reach a high of 21km/h on Tuesday and Thursday.
ACCUWEATHER
According to AccuWeather, Middelburg can brace for thunderstorms throughout the week, apart from Thursday and Sunday.
AccuWeather’s data suggests that Friday will have the highest temperature this week, with their prediction set at 27°C, one degree above The Weather Channel’s estimates.
They anticipate that the maximum temperature will not go below 15°C.

AccuWeather has a ‘RealFeel’ temperature gauge, meaning that because of the humidity, on Wednesday, despite being predicted to have a maximum of 23°C, it will actually feel like it is 29°C.
THE WEATHER NETWORK
In accordance with the other aggregators, The Weather Network predicts thunderstorms and showers throughout the week.
Their max temps reach as high as 28°C on Friday and Saturday.
Light rain is expected today (Monday), with a risk of thunderstorms beginning at 15:00 and lasting until 17:00, before returning between the hours of 19:00 – 20:00.
For tomorrow night (Tuesday), The Weather Network anticipates ‘heavy rain in the late evening, then cloudy overnight’, resulting in an estimated 5–10mm of rainfall that evening.
