WATCH: Man attacked by vigilantes last Friday dies in hospital

The Mhluzi police arrested five men in connection to the murder later that day.

Five men were arrested by the Mhluzi police in connection with the murder of a man who was assaulted, allegedly by members of a local taxi association.

The incident, which was caught on camera, happened in Extension 8, Mhluzi, last Friday.

The victim, along with two others, was being accused of stealing taxi parts.

A group of men driving various vehicles went to the home of one of the alleged thieves to confront him, subsequently assaulting him and two other men in the street. Crowds watched the horrific incident unfold.

Sadly, one of them died in the casualty ward. His family is yet to formally identify him.

The other two men are still in the hospital receiving medical treatment.
