Robbed at gunpoint, suspects wanted

The suspects are still at large.

With nothing but the clothes on their backs, two victims are currently living in fear after a traumatising robbery.

On Sunday evening, two friends were outside their apartment in the CBD when five armed men, speaking Northern Sotho (Sepedi), instructed them to enter the flat, and subsequently tied them up.

They went on to ransack the apartment, making off with furniture, cash, cellphones, and clothing. The criminals also made off with a red Volkswagen Jetta (A2).

One of the victims told the Middelburg Observer that his arms and legs were injured during the traumatic ordeal, adding that his friend’s ankles were injured and he is now struggling to walk.
