Traffic update: Caution on the Steenkampsberg road

Motorists travelling from Mashishing (Lydenburg) to Siyabuswa are warned about several cracks on the R33, in the Steenkampsberg pass area just before Roossenekal.

The road is sinking on one side.

The damage was reportedly caused by heavy rains, posing major risks for vehicles on the road.

According to concerned motorists, who are using the road on a regular basis, the cracks first occurred in January and are getting worse after the recent rain.

Motorists are advised to avoid using the road and use alternative routes to their destinations for safety measures.
