Two attacked at Kees Taljaard, woman raped
Armed suspects who robbed a couple and raped the woman at Middelburg’s sports complex are still at large.
A man and woman were left traumatised after they were attacked by five armed men Friday two weeks ago at around 19:30.
The man and woman were hanging out in a car at the Kees Taljaard Stadium when five men approached them.
The criminals drove them to a dumping site, tied them up, and stole three cellphones from them.
They went on to assault the pair and demand their bank cards and PINs.
Three of the assailants drove off with the man to the CBD so they could withdraw cash.
After an hour, they returned and physically assaulted the two victims because the PINs were incorrect.
The frightened woman was instructed to open her banking app to increase her bank limit.
Three of the assailants then allegedly raped the woman before fleeing the scene.
No arrests have been made yet.
Residents with information regarding the vicious attack are urged to come forward.
• On February 8, an alleged sex worker was raped by two men who also robbed her of cash.
The woman was standing on Boncker Street waiting for clients when the driver of a white Toyota Quantum flashed his lights at her.
The victim talked to the taxi driver, who asked about the cost of her services. After accepting the fee, the man motioned for the woman to get into his vehicle. She directed the driver to her rented room near 4SAI.
The man said he wanted to avoid large crowds and drove out into the bushes towards the old Belfast road.
The woman discovered there was a second person in the taxi when the driver unexpectedly grabbed her neck.
She was raped by the two men and severely assaulted with rocks.
