Uplands College open day 2025 welcomes over 100 prospective families

On March 1 Uplands College hosted a highly successful Open Day, welcoming over 100 prospective families to experience the vibrant spirit and excellence of the school. The day provided an immersive introduction to academics, boarding life, and co-curricular activities, offering families a glimpse into the exceptional education and holistic development that define Uplands.

The event featured campus tours and a comprehensive presentation by key school leaders:

  • Allan Laing, Head of Uplands College, who outlined the school’s vision and values.
  • Kerry Dewar, Head of Academics, who shared insights into Uplands’ rigorous academic programs.
  • Mark Blew, Head of Boarding and Pastoral Care, who highlighted the warm and supportive residential experience.
  • Dean Forword, Head of Co-Curricular Activities, who emphasised the extensive sports, arts and leadership opportunities available.

Adding a personal touch, current school mentors inspired prospective students with their stories and experiences, giving visitors a true sense of the Uplands community.

A Unique Boarding Experience

Ahead of the Open Day, on 28 February, prospective students had the opportunity to complete entrance assessments and participate in the highly anticipated “Day in the Life of a Boarder” overnight experience. This immersive introduction allowed students to engage with boarding life first-hand, fostering friendships and a deeper understanding of the unique camaraderie at Uplands.

Demand for Uplands Education at an All-Time High

With most classes already on waiting lists, Uplands College remains a sought-after institution. “The recovery of our demand post-COVID has been swift, and the school seems to be even more popular than before,” noted Mr Sean Carlisle, Executive Head of Uplands.
