Bees terrorise learners during sports event

The school decided to suspend classes due to a swarm of bees attacking students on Saturday.

Classes resumed at Steelcrest High School on Tuesday.

The school decided to suspend classes due to a swarm of bees attacking students on Saturday.

At least 12 learners were stung by the bees at the school.

The incident happened on the school’s netball court, hockey field and rugby field while they were playing against Gekombineerde Skool Hendrina.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and the learners were transported to the hospital by various ambulance services.

The school subsequently suspended classes on Monday to remove the bees.
