Motorcycle thieves strike in Mineralia

A suspected syndicate involved in stealing motorcycles is believed to be behind the theft of a KTM Adventure in Mineralia.

According to Martin Steyn, the owner of the KTM, the theft took place shortly after 03:00 this morning in Erembee Street, Mineralia.
From what the family could see on CCTV footage, three suspects were involved in the theft from the garage.

Martin’s wife, Cecelia, told the Middelburg Observer that the thieves were clearly after the motorcycles as they left a garage full of valuable tools and machinery behind.

“They tried to make off with our quad too, but its flat tyres prevented them from pushing it out of the garage. They ended up cutting the rear brake cables to the quad.”

According to Cecelia, they also stole a laptop and two pressure washers.

While Cecelia could not verify whether a vehicle was used to ferry off the stolen KTM, she presumes the suspects had to load it onto, or into a vehicle at some point.

The KTM is a blue and orange 990 Adventure.

Registration: HXV 015 MP.
