Reminder: SASSA card upgrade deadline is tomorrow (March 20)

Beneficiaries of social grants are reminded that tomorrow is the deadline to upgrade their SASSA gold card to the new Postbank black card.

Take note, the SASSA offices in Middelburg are still closed due to the renovations at the neighbouring Department of Social Services.

As for the reason behind the closure, they cited ‘noise, dust, and a lack of functioning toilets’.

The SASSA Middelburg offices themselves are not being renovated.

This has led to the majority of upgrades having to be issued at the Mhluzi branch.

The process can also be done at the Shoprite in Mhluzi and at the Pick n Pay in the Oaks Centre.

Originally, the deadline was February 28, but this was pushed back to allow many people the chance to allocate time to go and upgrade their cards.
