Volunteers create awareness surrounding Rare Disease Day

Rare Disease Day was observed last Friday by a group of volunteers who took an hour out of their schedule to create awareness.

According to Adel Maré, a group of employees from a local business volunteered to hand out pamphlets from 09:00 to 10:00 near NG Suid, providing information on different rare diseases.

As a mother of a child who lives with cystic fibrosis, Adel explained that there are children out there who battle against rare diseases and, therefore, the public needs to be informed.

Altogether, six ladies handed out flyers.
